My Thoughts On Everything…..

It's all about my jourey and my pursuit to the happyness. In finding my ways to a total freedom. I wish that my life couldn't be any easier than others...For every action, for every reason and for everytime goes by, I always stand out amongst the crowds. Being ordinary is very simple and easy but lame...but being extraordinary it takes more than usual...it's not that simple as much people can see me right now.....Things that makes me difference are;- I Always Try To Upgrade The Value of My Time and I Never Ask "How Much Does It Cost, But How Much Will It Make To Me?" ....

Engine Management FAQ

Why do I need engine management? Consider your stock engine management for just a moment. Your stock engine control unit (ECU) is a very complex piece of circuitry that calculates hundreds of variables every second. All of these variables rely on inputs within a + or – range. When you modify your vehicle, these values change. As long as the changes are within the values the ECU expects to receive, your engine runs fine. Once the values are exceeded, the ECU is programmed to compensate to return the values to normal levels.

This is a layman’s explanation of how your stock ECU can actually work against you when modifying your vehicle. This also explains why modifications can feel great once they are bolted on but the butt dyno results seem to fade over time. This is due to ECU compensation.

What is the first step in finding what engine management I need? Finding a tuner. The Tuner FAQ will help with the general rules of finding a good tuner. Remember, it’s always better to have a custom tune vs. a plug and play or “staged” map. Always defer to the tuner’s advice as to what to choose as ultimately he will be the one to provide custom support. Discuss your goals and budget and your tuner should set you on the right path. If you are a “plug and play” kind of person, review the options below and decide for yourself along with input from locals in your regional forum and the car parts review forum.

What will engine management do for me? Generally speaking, engine management optimizes several engine functions to create more horsepower and efficiency. The stock ECU is designed to ensure your car runs fine and monitors the engine’s output parameters. Utilizing an aftermarket engine management solution takes this to the next level.

Often times, car manufacturers will program the stock ECU with a known amount of “play”. This amount of play allows the manufacturer an extra level of safety and/or the ability to utilize this at a later date so they can have an increase in HP in later years. An example of this is where a 2001 car has 200HP and a 2002 car has 215HP. Some manufacturers couple this with additional parts to get increased HP levels, but this should give you some idea of the concept. From a marketing and sales aspect, this ensures that the public will continually be interested in the new year models, even if the body style does not change. While this FAQ is not about the science and art of auto sales, this may give you an insight as to why the stock ECU is not 100% perfectly tuned from the factory.

My 1st Installations,..an air charger

Finally, I’d just managed to send my car for a first upgrading process…the performance upgrade…definitely from the expert. I never planned for this upgrade but maybe it because I have an extra cash…or maybe because I’m so bored with my engine…or maybe because I’d nothing to do for today…..

Ok the real answer is I’m quite addicted to my car performance….I’d try asking some few friends and also so-called an expert(s)…but it’s a hopeless answer..finally I’d just made myself clear and understand what I really want for my ride;- absolutely a better torque and better mileage….but i must be at a reasonable cost!

So, what I did today is just waiting for my friend to call me to pick him up, and then both of us went to Sunway area…KAITENAZ RACING…that’s the shop!

KAITENAZ RACING is a specialist in engine tuning, their main products are voltage stabilizer, anti-roll body products; KAITENAZ & ULTRA RACING…., and air-charger ha-ha, they also got others product but definitely I just want to highlight my preferred products..at the first time entering the shop, I’m quite amazed with Mr. Nazree, he’s the co-owner of the KAITENAZ RACING,  a very nice guy, explaining everything into details, and this made me so confident about what I really want… especially for those using a  NATURALLY ASPIRATED ENGINE…

Since I don’t have any picture yet regarding my air-charger, I just can show the image of Air-Charger diagram and some explanations about how it works….

twin-ball-beraing-air-charger.JPG

An electric air charger for use with an internal combustion engine, the air charger comprising:

1.       A housing having an air inlet, an air outlet substantially axially aligned with the air inlet and adapted to be coupled to the engine, and first and second baffles disposed between the air inlet and the air outlet;

2.       An impeller disposed between the baffles and extending radially beyond the baffles for supplying air to the engine; and an electric motor connected to the impeller for controllably rotating the impeller, the motor having a stator and a rotor, the stator being connected to the housing, and the rotor being mounted on the impeller.

And for those looking for this product you may just log on to www.kaitenazracing.com

The effects after my installations:-

Engine get smoother, the power can hike much faster, better mileage  ( I’m working on it, since I need to tune it for myself), better torque and no more engine jerking….

By the way this is my Engine Specs:- Renault D4F 1.2L engine, 4 cylinder SOHC,  Multi-point fuel Injection, 74Hp, 105Nm Torque, 0-100 Km/h 12.5s -standard setting….

Ok..so I’m planning to go out for the tuning session….maybe my next upgrade is the voltage stabilizer + cable conductor (3-way)…

Changing my Ignition Coil

Hmm ..yesterday I spent almost RM700 to change for my Ignition coil, which has been specifically call damaged by the stupid action…..not sure how to say…probably my mistake….since the fellow ‘Bangladesh’ at the car wash washing m engine instead my car body, as a result…the engine start to pimp like hell…start with jerking problem..un-responsive engine n throttle…then no pick-up at all..Which the situation has become worst n the last 2 days….as a result changing my Ignition Coil is the solutions…

Here is the sample picture that I catched from the Net…the Ignition Coil…so the lesson is to never let the idiot washing your car engine!…Damn!

Getting My car to be fixed!

I had a bad day tis morning, my car couldn’t start….even after few times hard-try it still unable to make it….while I’m still trying, my dad n mum keep on mumbling to say abut the battery…stater..alternator….but i know none of them were correct…

Then suddenly after at least 15 minutes trying, i just did it!, but at that time the timing was so bad….it’s like a motorboat…then luckily with a buck of cash in my hand, finally i decided to went to the Proton Edar Service Center which just nearby to my area….actually my friend also one of the technician there so i’s good to have someone that you can refer to….

The only part that I need to change is the SPEED CENSOR……it cost me RM300 inclusive with the installation charges…

What is SPEED CENSOR?

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is a small signal generator that is turned by a gear inside the transmission assembly. The Vehicle Speed Sensor produces 8 pulse per rotation which a stock computer assumes 8000 pulses per mile. The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is a variable reluctance sensor that generates a waveform with a frequency that is proportional to vehicle road speed. When the vehicle is moving slowly, the sensor produces a low frequency signal. As the vehicle speed increases, the sensor produces a higher frequency signal The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) supplies this signal to the components that require vehicle speed information including the speed control amplifier for cruise control equipped vehicles and computer. The computer uses the VSS signal for emissions control programs and speed limiters. The emissions programing can cause a manual transmission vehicle to stall out while decelerating if no VSS is used.

About half an hour after that it’s done….the computerized analysis which were being made by the computer there is showing a positive result with NO FAULTY ENGINE reports…..and now my car start to perform just like any ordinary RENAULT CLIO 1.2L engine..sound good huh! no more hard starter problem, better fuel consumption, and the pick up is back on track!

The only thing that need to consider for my SAVVY right now is SET OF SPORT RIM = RM600……ABSORBER FRONT & REAR = RM800……CLUTCH PLATE = RM1,200.00 …all together is about RM2,600 have to spend for the SAVVY!
